We specialize in grinding carbide and tool steels for the mold & die and tooling industry. We have a great relationship with a local grinding wheel manufacturer and we are continually looking for new and better ways to grind. Some of our most recent accomplishments are in successfully grinding a new material called Cerbide (recently released to the market by North American Carbide). Cerbide is a pure tungsten carbide with no cobalt binder. It has a Rockwell of about 95.5 Ra and is much more complicated to grind than typical tungsten carbides (or Boron Carbide) because of its extreme abrasion and erosion resistance characteristics. We will look for this material to become more widely used in areas like oil drilling and exploration, medical industry, abrasives and ceramics manufacturing and anywhere there may be a need for extreme wear resistance.
Our capabilities include jig grind, surface grind within 12” x 24” envelope, OD/ID grind and centerless grind.
